Hope you’re staying warm! We can’t believe it’s been a month since we updated the blog. We’ve been keeping up to date over on our Instagram account though, for the most part. Go check that out for some recent videos and detail photos.
Winter has begun here in Ohio and we had a little snowfall earlier last month but it’s been surprisingly comfortable out other than that which has allowed us to get a TON of work done.
Over the last four weeks we managed to get every thing sealed up and ready to hold heat. We made some orders for flooring, a few lights, the Spanish cedar boards that will be our shower grate, couch cushions, mattress, some furniture pieces. Not only have we dumped a couple coins lately we’ve been working our butts off, my parent’s especially. We’ve each had our own to-do lists lately.
My Dad has been finishing plumbing, Justin tweaking the break box and electrical, my Mom has been filling in all the finishing touches on the custom built shelves, stairs, etc. I’ve been caulking, staining and painting—my all time favorite project! It’s been exhausting but working alongside Justin with my parents has been pretty wonderful. I don’t know when we would have this much time together otherwise and making decisions and working through all the quarks of this project together has brought us all closer. It’s given me another reason to love and respect my parents and the hard work they do. They’ve been doing work like this for forty years and the amount of knowledge they have amazes me. I’m pretty lucky to have been taught their work ethic and we’re both lucky to be learning from them!
The photos don’t do it justice and we have to keep telling everyone who asks that it doesn’t look like much to them but we’ve come a long long way! Hard to believe it but we’re nearly to the end and things are really coming together! My mom made a comment the other day that soon we’re going to have to start deciding where we’re going to put stuff. AHHH that’s crazy! We’ll be moving in this month and we can’t wait!
There will soon be new challenges, albeit exciting ones, with water storage, laundry, heat and living tiny but we’re ready for it!
